Round Square Conference In Kenya

Our Round Square pupils have recently come back from a transformative journey to Kenya. Ava, Ellie, James, Noah and Lukas attended the 55th Round Square International Conference (RSIC 2023) as student delegates.

During a busy week they supported three disadvantaged schools, leaving an indelible mark on both the infrastructure and hearts of the local community. They also had the opportunity of gaining insights into conservation and education efforts to take children off the streets of Kenya, from guest speakers Clifford Oluoch and Idah Muriithi.

They reminded our students of the importance of living in harmony with nature, and social justice. A visit to the National Park unfolded a safari adventure, where students encountered diverse wildlife, connecting with the country's natural beauty, underpinning the importance of environmental conservation.

As they return, our students carry memories of not only the classrooms they revitalised but also the inspiring discussions with students from 160 Round Square schools around the world, some of the most remarkable ideas shared during the conference were: "I am because we are"; " Do the best you can with what you have"; and "It is more in you that what you know".

This holistic encounter has shaped them into global citizens, blending service, wildlife appreciation, and cultural immersion in a powerful narrative of learning and compassion. Students demonstrated that they are a truly inspiring example of our school values: Ambition, Respect, Courage and Responsibility.
